Turrets, oh Turrets.

The weapon with in-built wall hacker and aimbotter has recently been nerfed so that now it acts as a support weapon as it should - and not the main source of kills for a specialist.

Turrets are little machine guns that a Specialists can deploy. The turrets that Specialists carry are unlike any other turret you'd expect...

  • They can turn 360 degrees instantly.
  • They can keep track of multiple enemy soldiers - once one enemy is out-of-sight the turret will instantly target the next soldier in line.
  • They are extremely light, with players having the ability to throw them up in the air onto trucks.
  • They can sense players through walls
  • They are in an arcade-styled game.
  • Turrets are a tactical weapon.

When they were first introduced there was no limit on how many a specialist may deploy in one game. As a result, when a specialist died they simply deployed another - sometimes on purpose.

What a mess

They are mostly hated by the players that don't use them, so much so that a forum movement was created to try and fight against the auto-turrets. The movement was called "Fight Against the Auto-Turrets" or "FAAT". This movement was noticed by Combat Arms Command in a State of the Game address of 7/7/10, which despite the title, was posted on the 13th.

FAAT signature used on forums

The turrets were then nerfed on the July '10 patch, with only one turret deployable per specialist per game but with increased health.

Question of the Post
Were you apart of / aware of FAAT?
Are you happy about the current state of turrets?

Did you know?
LE (Limited Edition) weapons in the Europe version means "90 Days" whereas the American version it signifies a permanent duration.
