EXP & GP

EXP & GP, short for 'experience' and an acronym for 'Gear Points' are awarded after each game to all players that stuck it out to the bitter end.

This article will discuss the varying amounts soldiers have been receiving for their efforts over the years...

The amount a soldier receives depends on many factors, only known to Nexon. Some factors include amount of kills and deaths, amount of mission points, flag captures / defends etcetera. The algorithm that Nexon uses to calculate this amount is only known to Nexon and has known to change. It is also important to note that different modes have different formulas.

Although not admitted by Nexon themselves, some players accuse them of decreasing the amount of experience and/or GP in order to sell more EXP and GP passes.

The Big Earners
What modes people should play to claim the biggest payout is of great concern to some players, seeking advice from many forumers regularly. The modes that reward players a lot of exp / gp for their time have changed but as always, you should always just play whatever mode you feel like playing.

When Spy Hunt came out, it was known for its big payouts for killing the Super Spy or uploading the intel. It still does, but nowadays Fireteam is known for its payouts.

As the days go by it seems the exp and gp payout gets less and less. Compared to the beta days and today, some might say that Nexon has decreased it...

The GP Payout during the early days...
LOL, just kidding. On June 3rd CAEU experienced a glitch whereby all LMS Snow Valley games resulted in an abnormal amount of GP being awarded. This was later rectified and the extra GP removed from the game. However it is a common complaint on the "NA vs EU"-type of topics that the EU version of the game awards significantly less exp and gp than the NA counterpart.

Question of the Post
Do you feel that the experience and GP awarded nowadays is less than when you first started playing?

Did you know?
Power Surge was to be called Rapid Stream during the development of the map. There is also an inaccessible, planned map called "Ant Eater".

  2. I played since early 2009 on EU and left for 9 months, so I felt the GP and EXP rates drasticly change, even tough mods state that it wasn't.
