The Community Outreach Program

For the past year Nexon has stepped up its communication with its players. They have introduced Facebook fan pages, surveys, polls, new community liasons and other communications to try and really connect with their customers.

We will be looking at the Combat Arms efforts...

The more prominent community effort has been the Great Facebook Race. Nexon has set targets to achieve a certain amount of fans for their Combat Arms Facebook page. They've also introduced a sidebar on the main page as a reminder of how far we have to reach our goal. As a reward for reaching the reward, Nexon celebrates via EXP & GP events, merchandise giveaways and perm GP gun sales.
Success!

Combat Arms Command has also issued two surveys for combatants to give their opinions on what their favourite items, maps and modes as well as other valuable questions for Nexon to ignore mull over.

The Weekly Briefing and the Sharp Shooter have been introduced as a weekly and monthly news item respectively. The Weekly Briefing aims to round up the Combat Arms week for those who weren't paying attention. It was commented on the forums that it was more of a debriefing instead of a briefing, but, then liason, StoneGold said it won't be changing as they've already made the graphic for it.
It includes the Item of the Week, in which Nexon selects an item (the NX variant of course) and asks what their Facebook fans think about. Three opinions will be selected for the Briefing and three extra will win 10,000NX.
It also includes the Community Spotlight in which Nexon picks out the best of the community's efforts for that week. The debriefing also highlights the ongoing events.

The Sharp Shooter guides players for the new map of the month in what strategies and gear players should use, as a guide only.

Probably one of the biggest of them all though is General G's State of the Game Address and the Community Q&A promising more communication on what is happening with the game. They can be searched for on the official forums. So far only General G has made these posts, instead of the original trio General G, XO-Rex and Sarge... although Sarge has made a few posts regarding technical support.

Another of these efforts was the introduction of the controversial now-gone community liason StoneGold and the current community liason Kalika.

It is great to see Nexon connecting with their player base to see what their community really wants. So far it has made Nexon focus of new maps and modes, rebalancing of the M4 Super 90, M32 and AutoTurret as well have them focusing on working on a first-person spectator mode to replace the current 360 degree KillCam.

Question of the Post
What was the fastest response time for a customer support ticket for you?
Me - 10 hours.

Did you know?
Five Vivox representatives have joined the official forums "to ensure their service is the best and assist you the best they can". Reflecting the reliability of Vivox, the last activity of these reps was December 8th 2009 with a total of five posts... with two reps "Last Active" a day before they registered.
