A standard feature of all online forums nowadays - avatars are little pictures that go along with your posts, acting as a 'face' for the posts. Usually matches the signature.

Along with many other standard features of forums, these are missing from the Nexon forums.
On the 27th of November 2009, forum images were "temporarily" disabled from being uploaded onto the forum server. This was due to proactive measure to minimise the effect JavaScript meta-tags may have on these images.

Due to security concerns regarding the use of meta tags within image files, we've taken a proactive measure to disable all uploaded images from showing on our forums, this includes imageuploads, and avatars. We regret taking this measure, but because of the use of javascript within image meta tag being an increasing activity among hackers, we've taken this measure until we can verify that it poses no threat to our players. Nexon being Nexon, there has been no information regarding the status of this investigation and whether avatars will be returning.

This is not really surprising since none of the other features of forum work:

• "Oops" errors randomly appear during navigation and posting. This creates double / triple posting.
• Edit button disabled due to exploit in locked threads allowing editer to unlock the thread.
• When posting a post containing an image, the image may not appear. It may appear as 

IMAGEURL" border="0" />  

• Posting a post copied from an external program such as Notepad or Word will remove paragraphing and give some mumbo-jumbo at the top of your post.

• Clicking "reply" will sometimes redirect you to replying to another post in another unrelated section.
• Threads are locked for "other", offering no explanation on why or how to further prevent future threads from being locked for "other", mainly due to the moderators not saying anything.
• Pressing "enter" may post a blank post, instead of creating a new line. 
• Searching a term searches the whole forum - there is no way to restrict it to just one game. 
• Signatures were disabled due to an exploit which, when viewed, would replace your signature with the exploit and it would self-propogate. The signature exploit involved the "Community Punching Bag -Hime-" and would disable the advanced text editor and mess up paragraphing breaks. 
• Private Messaging has been disabled due to lack of moderation. It was then temporarily accessible via adding users as the "favorites" and accessing PMs via that function. This was then disabled.
• There is no flood control. It is possible to post thousands of threads in minutes. This lead to the creation of the Xat chatbox.
• It sometimes takes multiple attempts to log in and then multiple attempts to post a post. 
• Sometime you randomly log out. 

 Luckily, NXNeural has announced that Nexon is working on new forums!
