SnowBall Fight was a fun game mode that was available for a limited run, from 1/14/2009 through 2/25/2009. How to play can be found here... although this article isn't about how to play it...
Shortly after the game was released it was played quite a lot. People played it because it was different from all the other modes. People played it because it was the season to play it. People played it because you gain thousands and thousands of EXP and GP... "wait what?"
Well, not normally but people found a way that could earn you many more mission points than Nexon first intended. After the game finished, the game saw that you had hundreds of mission points ('cause you're such a good teammate!) and then awarded you massive amounts of EXP and GP.
Naturally, Nexon responded with a forum post explaining that it'll be addressed. In the next patch, the powerlevelling exploit was fixed. They searched through their database to find players that used the exploit more than once and then demoted all of them to Trainee. All their experience, gear and GP was wiped.
Lots of people jumped thousands in the ranks, indicating quite a lot of the community abused the game mode.
The game mode hasn't reappeared since then, and it is unclear whether it will ever be back.

I was demoted to trainee during this time. I admit that i was exploiting this to its fullest. At the time of my demotion Greatfulded wasnt even a major contender. I belive that i was ranked #16 and i was a 1LT4.
ReplyDeleteI joined CA in the summer of 2009 sadlee i never got to play snow ball fight mode but ether way i would have bin a noob and not even know where to play that mode.All i know at the time was to stand at one spot and shoot XD good times.Lots of true noobs back then,not just people that start new accounts just as it is today
