Not too long ago Nexon started an initiative whereby all players must change their password every three months in order to increase player security. First it was a simple form and all you had to remember was your old password... The second iteration was not so well received...
Nexon decided that the prompt should resemble the form that appears when manually changing your password. It includes typing in your name and date of birth. For most people, this was no problem as they remembered their name and when they were born... at least the details they gave Nexon.
For the rest who understandably didn't trust Nexon when registering and put fake details, they were basically locked out of their account. Rage, rage and more rage ensued on the official forums (what's new?) and Nexon backed down on the 'compulsory' part of the campaign.
What will be really interesting will be the eventual launch of Block Party... with so many people that used pseudonyms and random DOBs, will these details be changeable as these details may be public (being a social network and all)?
Did you know?
Combat Arms has a storyline (that no-one ever talks about).
lols i used fake info too on my nexon account, but luckily i use the same fake info on every suspicious online account so fortunately i remembered it. =D
