The YouTube Machinima Contest

The YouTube Machinima Contest first opened to the public on September 3rd 2009. Machinima, (derived from machine and cinema) is filmmaking created through the real-time recording of computer games, virtual worlds or any already-existing 3D digital environment or virtual world - in this case, Combat Arms.

The Twist: Combat Arms Command has provided the beginning and the end of the story for you. It is up to you to figure out how the story transpires from beginning to end.

The Beginning: Our story starts with 4 friends who have known each other since childhood.

The End: Our story ends with an immense explosion.

The Middle: This is up to you, so get creative! How did a story about 4 friends end in an explosion?
Post your Machinima video on YouTube and send it to the Combat Arms Youtube Channel.

The machinimists has until September 29th 2009 to complete their YouTube video of 1 minute and 30 seconds duration.

One thing to note is that these prizes have not been awarded yet, to anyone's knowledge. The official rules and regulations state...
Winners will be contacted about their prizes no later than 11:59 pm PDT on October 31, 2009.
------ YouTube Machinima Contest Rules and Regulations, Section 4. Prizes

This basically means that the winners should have already been contacted about their prizes if Nexon followed their own rules and regulations although Nexon never actually picked any winners.

However, in a post that has now been purged from the official forums, community liason -Hime- said that the judge (GM) that was reviewing the submissions left Nexon and the whole judging process had to restart in order to maintain consistency (paraphrasing, by the way). The results of the contest would be "soon". This was early this year, only when a player asked what happened to the contest.

No such announcement has been made, although announcing the winners now would be redundant as many of the submissions probably don't play CA anymore - not to mention that the "surprise supply cases" don't actually exist anymore either.

Question of the Post
Do you make or watch machinima's?

Did you know?
This post marks one year since this contest opened.
